Only in Alaska do pet owners have to worry about their dogs being attacked by moose in the backyard . . .
A homeowner in Midtown, Alaska, shared her home surveillance footage to warn others about leaving their pets unattended outside. The shocking video shows a large cow moose in a fenced in backyard trampling a Cocker Spaniel several times.

The moose was likely already on edge being displaced in town, where everything is completely unfamiliar, but add in two dogs, one of which is barking at the cow moose’s calf, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. The cow was simply trying to protect its calf (as it likely has done against wolves and coyotes in the past), and the small dog was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
