Has the relashionship with Dorcey ever been repaired?  -Chris Underwood

Why did they sell the wash plant? – Jeremy

  • Jwrathall

Why didn’t you fill in the big hole before you left Porcupine Creek?  Dakota Fred didn’t deserve to walk right into such a good situation that you created for him.

    • Heath Peterson

I think they should have filled it in burn down the office building.

      • Epowers

Yeah – fill it in with concrete next time would ya’

  • Tammy

I was thinking more general questions, like, what’s the most gold they have found in one area or what’s the most they have found in one day.

  • Aroostookbasser

Are these guys actually living reality, to include subsistance hunting and fishing? Is this like survivor where all the food/water and necessities are trucked in? How much of an issue are the bears and other animals? Any wolverine stories?

How do they divide the gold they find? Is it an equal split or does it depend on each member’s initial investment?

  • Haschill

THIS QUESTION IS FOR TODD…. When you went up to check out your other claim…. Why didn’t you apply for your water permitt then?   Or why didn’t you ask the guy who showed you if you could still qualify for a water permit.  You had to have one for your original site, and you were olmost shut down last year when they told you that you couldn’t use your original water hook-up…. it would seem like the proper question to ask…. We are a fan and watch the show and have it recorded for us if we can’t see it live….  So don’t give up,  and don’t try to buy used equipment at auction when there is a better way…. you found a used equipment dealer and bought your dozzer from him… good job…

Some of us here in Ketchikan, Alaska are curious about what you guys eat. Is there a food truck that follows you around? Who is the camp cook and just what and how much food have
you guys consumed? Food is expensive and not that easy to come by in that area.
Have you had trouble getting food, how much have you spend and what is your favorite meal.
In the 98 Gold Rush Scurvy was a big concern. Are you guys keeping up with your vitamin c?

Kindly send any spare, left-over gold to “Scott’s Home for Lost Nuggets” via my address. Thank-you!

Assuming that looking for gold in Alaska would involve getting down and dirty in rocks, mud, water, cold, and such, I’d want to know what clothing, outerwear, and gear the team finds most helpful and appropriate to the task.

First where / when can this interview be viewed?

Second, I would love to know why Todd Hoffman puts up with all that shit from the old man (his father)? Is the old man played up for tv, or is he really that rude and hard headed…

Good luck and thanks for your efforts!

    Stay safe!

I feel that the show does a really good job of illustrating how challenging and also how dangerous gold mining can be. Everyone in camp wears hard hats and you seldom see anyone without one. Which makes me ask why there are small children in camp and why are they not wearing hard hats?  Considering the long hours the crew puts in, wouldn’t the kids be better off at home with their mothers?

  • Epowers

Why would you sign a lease without a right of first refusal to buy the claim. Hire a professional to negotiate the details like water permits etc…

    • Bobby Mac

I couldn’t agree more… But in the case of porcupine creek, it wouldn’t have made any difference because Todd Hoffman failed to make his payment; hence the reason that miserable claim jumping old man, Fred bought it!

first their are a lot of people out of work and like me homeless should say liveing in a camper.would the hoffmans consider bringing in more people from other states? i have tryed to contact them and as of now obama is easier. it seems to me it would be a plus. or do you need to be from sandy oregan? i dont care about the tv people,i just need a job and it seems there is a need for a few good men on the klondike.daylate85@yahoo.com

I would like to know why Todd didn’t want to see the paperwork that Fred had showing the lease being terminated and the mine sold?  It’s been speculated on the internet that these two may be working together due to a photo showing Fred in Todd’s house.   Its been revealed that the show is scripted more than anyone wants to believe and cast members are being paid as well.  I’ve been entertained by the show,  However I strongly feel that there is a lot of things that smell fishy to m
    e.    IE..  why wasn’t the film crew  or the work crew allowed to see the Jack weighing the gold   I’m sure Todd can’t answer my question as the rating would tumble if everyone knew Fred and Todd are working together.

If Todds beard was 2 inches shorter he could pass for my sons twin brother.

  • whitetailhunter

I am curious how much assistance the cast actually receives from the producers of the show, and how authentic the experience is.

  • Daylate85

why is he such an ass

  • Harleybob

after tearing the shit out the land what happens they are done do they just leave it or do they have to reclame it
