What Are Your Ultimate Outdoor Adventure Goals?

Leave your comment in this week’s Campfire that asks the question: what are your ultimate outdoor adventure goals? Ski the backside of Storm Peak? Catch a peacock bass in the Amazon River? Go on an African safari? For an inspirational example, Dr. Jack Frost is an orthopedic surgeon and also Legislative Vice President of the Alaskan Bowhunters Association. One of his well-known accomplishments is the successful harvest of one of every big game species in North America. Frost is always looking for an adventure, like being one of the handful of modern bowhunters to harvest a Marco Polo sheep at an altitude of 17,000 ft and numerous stories of real adventures other people have only dreamt about.

So share some of your glory and personal outdoor accomplishments, if you’ve achieved them. What are you striving for? Whatever it may be, let’s light up the Campfire and share our goals.

I want to run the Spartan Race. Just as soon as I am crazy/in shape enough to do it!

For years I’ve wanted to take a 4-month camping trip to New Zealand or Australia. Somewhere where a mountainous terrain meets a body of water. And where it’s warm.
Bring only tools and books and not talk to a single human for 4 months. Hunt and forage for food when my supplies run out. Make my own mini hut and really get to know my natural landscape.

Canoe the Red River of the North to Hudson’s Bay.

I would like to go back to West Virginia and kayak the New River. I did whitewater rafting there so many years ago, but I definitely thought that the kayakers had much more fun than I did! :D
