What is the Best Mountain Town?

Chime in with your opinion – what is the best winter mountain town you’ve ever been to? Was it one of the towns situated at the bottom of numerous epic peaks tailored to skiers in Colorado? Maybe a hidden gem in Utah or Montana? Have you ever been abroad where you had five mountains to choose from at one time?

Strike up a warm campfire to share your opinion on the towns near to home and those wildly different escapes that offer much more than skiing or snowboarding. Maybe you could use this page as your guide for your next winter getaway?

Zakopane, Poland. It’s a tiny resort/mountain town in the far south of Poland in the Tatra Mountains. There are at least 3 separate mountains to ski down, and then a competition ski-jumping hill, cross-country skiing, goral culture, the list is endless. Did I mention it’s gorgeous?

    This one has amazing beer.

Really though, I love Jackson Hole and Breckenridge in the summer. I don’t ski or snowboard, but they’re amazing places to hike and hang out. Also, the concrete luge slides in Breckenridge in the summer are awesome.

Port Angeles, Washington. Situated at the foothills of the Olympic Mountains this town has everything you could want from the ski slopes to fly fishing in the ice cold river waters or salmon fishing in the Straits. The hunting in the area is also superb for deer, bear or elk. The are duck and pheasant as well. Like I said, this place has everything the outdoor enthusiast could want and more
