What was the Coolest/Best New Product at SHOT Show 2012?

Now that SHOT 2012 is over, gather ’round the Campfire this week and tell us what you think the coolest and/or best product of the show was. Was it the innovative Thompson Center Dimension bolt-action rifle, one of the new AR rifles put out by Smith & Wesson or Stag Arms, one of Leupold’s new scopes or something completely different? Did you like all the zombie stuff this year, or was the undead overload a little too much for you? Tell us what you think and why!

All the high tech, high dollar items are really cool and put us into another dimension after all is said and done. But when it comes right down to it, most of us cant afford most of that stuff. In my opinion, one of the best products I encountered was the Hands Free video Glasses. These things make it possible for the average person to record his or her excursions into the woods or on the water for the next generation to see, and have for a lifetime. And they can actually find this item within reach, because of the reasonable price range. Awesome item!

Getting my hands on the H&K G28 rifle was pretty awesome, though I don’t know how “new” that can be considered….it was freaking heavy

I was not at SHOT…but from what I saw online, I’m most excited about the Sitka Gear waterfowl outfit. Some of the best looking gear (both in jacket look/materials and camo) I’ve seen in a long time.

This isn’t a product but a program… I’m excited about the Paralyzed Veterans of America-Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund/Armed Forces
Entertainment Outdoor Legends Tour. It’s focused on interacting with
and entertaining American troops overseas. Miller, Shockey, Waddell, Valentine, Zumbo and others are part of a group
of nine outdoor industry personalities who will travel to Southwest Asia
to thank our military men and women for their heroic service.

Shout out to LLD-POMA! How exciting is it for outdoor celebrities, TV hosts & icons to travel to SW Asia for the sole purpose of telling active-duty troops we care about them, want them home safely as soon as their mission allows…and when they get home, we welcome them in the field and on the water with open arms!!! Should have great stuff to write about when they come home.

For me it was meeting industry experts who willingly shared ideas, visions and stories with me.

Gerber Knives has some cool stuff coming out. I loved getting my picture take at their booth fighting off a zombie with a Gerber hatchet

I literally had a BLAST at Media Day on the Range, which allowed me to shoot several different firearms. Although I enjoyed every shot, if I had to choose one, it would be the Franchi Instinct over and under shotgun. It was light, smooth, I loved the ejection system, and very accurate!! (I may have to take some credit for the accuracy!)

My wife would say the new Savage Lady Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor that I purchased for her after seeing it at the Shot Show.
