Cheap Fire Starter

Camping Tips

by Outdoor Hub Fans on June 29, 2011

Back packing, hunting and camping are all lots of fun. But, if the weather is bad, it can be a real challenge to get a fire started. I use this tip to help me get a fire going without burning through my wallet.

When backpacking or going hunting, always carry a fire starter in your pack. Get A prescription bottle container, or any small container with a lid, and fill it full of cotton balls soaked with Petroleum Jelly. Tear half or less from the cotton ball, place it under dry pine needles or kindling, and light it with a lighter or a match. It’s a cheap fire starter!

There you go. Use this tip and next time you need to get a fire started it will be easy and affordable.
