Fishing on the river with fresh bait almost certainly guarantees you will catch fish. Try using a small crawfish trap (found at most bait and tackle shops) and place a piece of chicken in the trap. Leave it for about an hour while you are fishing.
Crawfish are drawn to the chicken like a magnet if there are any crawdads around at all. The longer you leave the trap, the more crawfish you trap. Be sure to check your local fish laws on catching bait. Now, take your crawfish and go catch some fish!
