Colt’s Manufacturing Gears Up for Second Stage of Colt 3-Man 3-Gun Championship

Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC, which is supporting the 2012 3-Man 3-Gun Championship as this year’s title sponsor, is preparing for the second and final round of competition. The 3-Man 3-Gun Championship runs in a two-match format, with teams of three competing against each other in a 3-gun shooting competition.
More than 55 teams from across the United States participated in the first round of competition held on May 20 at the Topton Fish & Game Association in Topton, Penn. The final stage of competition will take place on July 14 and 15 at the Peacemaker National Training Center in West Virginia, which is also sponsored by Colt’s Manufacturing.
“This competitive event challenges 3-Gun shooters both physically and mentally,” said Joyce Rubino, Vice President of Marketing for Colt’s Manufacturing. “It was a thrill to watch some of our nation’s best shooters negotiate the various challenges presented by the six stages of this competition in the first round. We are happy to support this event and look forward to what’s to come in the competition’s second round at the Peacemaker facility.”
Colt-sponsored Clint Upchurch is a member of the first place team after the first round of competition, teaming up with Brownells-sponsored Novekse shooting team members Jansen Jones and Rob Romero. The team hopes to continue its lead through the second stage, and ultimately win the competition.
“The Colt 3-Man 3-Gun Championship is a great event that brings a lot of exposure to the 3-gun sport,” said Upchurch. “I had a great time shooting with Jansen and Rob, and we are excited to move on to the second stage and hopefully come home with the top prize.”
The winning team will receive a $6,000 cash prize courtesy of Colt’s Manufacturing.
