At the opening of the 2012 ICAST convention, Pursuit Channel will officially announce weekend afternoon “SPORTFISHER” destinations for the network’s 2013 Q1 to Q2 programming period. The SPORTFISHER initiative (Saturdays 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET) promises to provide content producers with the most affordable, audited, television opportunities available today; to support and expand America’s greatest outdoors pastime; and to compliment the network’s Ranger Boats’ Primetime Tuesday.
As reported in published audits based on the analytics of Kantar Media, each of the Tuesday night shows within the Ranger Boats’ Primetime Tuesday bloc reached at least 104,100 homes per week during the first two quarters of 2012. The bloc’s top show delivered more than 131,000 households weekly, making it the most-watched fishing show in Pursuit Channel history. Ranger Boats’ Primetime Tuesday includes: IFA Redfish Tour, Scott Martin Challenge, Hank Parker Outdoor Magazine, Fishing Club Journal, Cabela’s Fisherman’s Handbook and Fishing Texas.
“The Pursuit Channel is an exceptional partner for Ranger Boats and represents an outstanding group of outdoor enthusiasts,” said Bart Schad, Vice President of Marketing for Ranger Boats. “As part of our 45th Anniversary celebration, we’re looking forward to a second Tuesday night spring season with Pursuit Channel in 2013. And the addition of these new weekend television blocs only adds to the excellent fishing and family programming available on Pursuit.”
Pursuit Channel projects that individual shows within the Saturday and Sunday SPORTFISHER schedule may deliver more than 100,000 audited homes per week on average during the Q1 to Q2 2013 period.
“We are equally ecstatic about bringing CarecoTV on board to help Pursuit Channel and MOOSE Media represent all of these great fishing opportunities to the industry,” said Rusty Faulk, CEO of Pursuit Channel. CarecoTV is an outdoors television production and marketing company with a decided emphasis on bass fishing, inshore saltwater fishing and fishing tournament coverage. “Careco is now the network’s primary recruiter of new fishing content and our envoy to the category’s manufacturing community,” said Dennis Presley of MOOSE Media, “which qualifies as one of the great new partnerships in outdoors television.”
“I think the success this year of the Ranger Boats’ bloc is just a preview of what’s ahead for Pursuit Channel, MOOSE Media, Careco and America’s fishing segment,” added Wade Middleton, President of CarecoTV. “Whether it’s quality distribution for emerging shows like Lake Commandos with Steve Pennaz, or schedules to compliment the excellence of a series like Fish PAA, this is the sort of exciting strategic alliance that benefits industry.”
