With a record turnout for the first major outdoor event of the 2013 outdoor target calendar, the Bangkok Asian Grand prix was an unqualified success- not only for World Archery Asia, but also for Team Hoyt.Taking victory in nearly every category, Team Hoyt shooters dominated in the medal count, racking up more than 75% of the recurve medals- and 90% of compound medals.

“I can’t believe how smooth and fast my HPX has been for me.” said Rahul BANERJEE, the star of the India archery team, who changed to Hoyt after disappointment in London last year. “My scores have improved over anything else I have ever shot, especially under pressure. Hoyt is clearly the choice for me.” said Banerjee.

Ika Yuliana ROCHMAWATI took the women’s gold in a dominant performance. The London Olympian wielded the Hoyt Formula system for her impressive victory.

Jignas CHITTIBOMA of India took the gold in an all-Hoyt men’s compound final against HE Ying of China, while SHIMADA Takayuki of Japan took Bronze with his Hoyt compound. Indonesia’s Dellie THREESAYANDINDA successfully took on India’s Anjali KUMARI for women’s gold. India’s all-Hoyt men also took team gold in the competition.

World Archery commentator George Tekmitchov remarked, “While other bows were clearly showing issues in the high heat and humidity of this event (100 degrees and more than 80% humidity) it was obvious that Hoyt shooters with the Cam & 1/2 Performance System bows had an edge. Other bows were especially hard-hit in the tough conditions, throwing inconsistent high and low and low arrows. With the balanced rigging of the Hoyt bows, there were no issues despite the tough conditions.”
