Annual BLADE Show in Georgia Sees Spike in Attendance

Attendance hit an all-time high at this weekend’s hugely popular knife show at Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Ga. The BLADE Show + Living Ready Expo, now in its 32nd year, entertained over 6,500 visitors with hundreds of booths and special events, making it a record breaking weekend for the annual show.

“We are thrilled to have exceeded our expectations of attendance at this year’s show,” Group Show Director Alicia Newton said. “Our primary commitment is focused around efforts to grow attendance each year; this bodes well with season vendors who have been with us since the start of the show. We look forward to continued growth of this exciting event in coming years.”

Passionate knife collectors and enthusiasts enjoyed 739 exhibitor booths on the show floor representing knife manufacturers, handmade and custom knife makers, and survival-related companies.

“That was the best BLADE [Show] ever,” Tom Mayo, an exhibitor and custom knife-maker for Mayo Knives, said of the show. “I heard it over and over again throughout the weekend!”

In addition to booths, seminars and the annual BLADE Magazine 2013 Knife-Of-The-Year® Awards, guests had the opportunity to meet special guests by R. Lee “The Gunny” Ermey (Full Metal Jacket) and Larry “The Hammer” Harley (Lords of War). This year’s show also included a new Living Ready Expo as part of F+W Media’s newest LIVING READY community, which focuses on emergency preparedness, self-sufficient living and homesteading.
