Video: Mother Bear Defends Cub from Wolf Pack

On the snowy mountains near the town of Erzurum, Turkey a mother brown bear maneuvers desperately to save her lone cub. Surrounded on all sides by wolves, what follows is a deadly dance between two predators for the life of a young bear. Eurasian brown bears are powerfully built, just like their North American cousins, and can be found across Europe, parts of the Middle East, and even isolated areas in eastern Asia.

The resident who took the video–from a distance–reported that the cub escaped the attack.
