2014 Arizona Pronghorn Antelope and Elk Hunt Draw Booklet is Available Online

The 2014 Pronghorn Antelope and Elk Hunt Draw Information regulations booklet has been posted online by the Arizona Game and Fish Department at www.azgfd.gov/draw.

Hunters may now begin applying for hunt permit-tags issued through the drawing process by downloading a paper application form at www.azgfd.gov/draw and submitting it by mail or by hand delivery. Printed copies of the regulations, paper application forms and envelopes are anticipated to be at license dealers and at Game and Fish offices by the end of next week. Please note that the paper application form for this draw is new; please do not use old application forms to apply.

Paper applications may be submitted by U.S. mail to Arizona Game and Fish Department, P.O. Box 74020, Phoenix, AZ 85087-1052. Hand-delivered paper applications can be dropped off at any Game and Fish office until the deadline.

The online application service for this draw is expected to be available by early to mid-January.

The draw deadline for all applications is 7 p.m. (MST-Arizona time) on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014. Mailed applications must be received by the department by the deadline. Postmark dates do not count.

A 2014 hunting license or combination hunting/fishing license is required to apply for the draw. Please note that a new license structure and license and tag fees went into effect on Jan. 1, 2014. The new structure and fees can be found on page 7 of the 2014 Pronghorn Antelope and Elk Hunt Draw Information booklet. Licenses can be purchased at the time you are applying for the draw, or they can be purchased separately online at www.azgfd.gov/eservices/licenses.shtml or at authorized license dealers or Game and Fish offices. If you are buying your license online, you must have a printer and print out your license; the department will not mail out licenses purchased online.

Licenses are now valid for one year rather than just for the calendar year. If you buy your license from a dealer or through the online draw process (when it becomes available), your start date (the date your license becomes valid) will be your date of purchase. If you buy your license through the paper draw application process, your start date will be the published deadline date for that draw. If you buy your license separately at www.azgfd.gov/eservices/licenses.shtml or from a Game and Fish office, you can name your own start date up to 60 days beyond the date you purchase it, and it will be valid for one year from that date. Please note that if you are planning to apply for the 2014 elk/pronghorn draw, make sure you choose a start date that is no later than the draw deadline day (Feb. 11, 2014), as you must have a valid license as of that date to be eligible for the draw.
