Team ITP-sponsored ATV and side-by-side racers won eight classes and earned 14 total podiums, including a sweep of the XC1 Modified SxS class, at round seven of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country series in West Virginia. “ITP Tires helped propel our GNCC side-by-side racers to an impressive XC1 Modified class sweep and eight total class wins at the Mountaineer Run GNCC. Kyle Chaney continues his impressive driving, having now scored two straight GNCC podiums with ITP tires on his Can-Am Maverick,” said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. “We also had a good weekend at the NEATV-MX race at Hurricane Hills, with Josh Creamer earning the Pro-Am class win and a solid second-place finish in the Pro division.”

Marvin’s Mountain Top in Masontown, W.Va., hosted round seven of the AMSOIL GNCC series. The Rocky Mountain ATV / MC round also hosted round three of the six-round SXS Championship series. The course featured plenty of dust, forests and rocks to keep racers honest. Team ITP earned a season-best eight class victories and six other podiums in West Virginia.

ITP-supported side-by-side racers had a big weekend in West Virginia, earning four total podiums, including a sweep of the XC1 Modified class. Chaney Racing / Turnkey UTV / Can-Am / ITP racer Kyle Chaney and co-pilot Chris Bithell won the class. It was Chaney’s second straight podium finish with his Can-Am Maverick side-by-side outfitted with ITP Black Water Evolution tires. The victory pushed him into the XC1 Modified class points lead with three rounds remaining. Joining Chaney on the box were JB Racing / Can-Am drivers Tim Farr (Julie Farr) and Larry Hendershot Jr. (Larry Sr.). The second-place finish was Farr’s second of the year and helped him take over the No. 3 spot in the class standings. Jack’s Excavating / Can-Am / ITP pilot Mouse Pratt took 11th. His brother Marcus Pratt, in the No. 4 Jack’s / Can-Am side-by-side, secured the second-place finishing spot in the XC2 Limited class to climb to within three points of the class leader after three rounds of SxS action.

ITP-backed ATV amateur competitors also shined bright at round seven of the GNCC, winning five classes and taking the second spot on the 10 a.m. overall podium. Despite finishing second in his class, Schoolboy A/B (13-15) racer Westley Wolfe tallied the No. 2 spot on the overall podium on his Greg’s ATV-backed Apex shod with ITP tires. It was the first podium for Wolfe since he won his class at round four. Other amateur class wins went to Greg’s ATV / ITP racer Kenny Rich Sr. (Masters 50+), Dave Simmons (Super Senior 45+), Angel Knox (WXC), Kenny Rich Jr. (Junior 30+ C) and Dale Batson (35+ C). Wolfe, Simmons and Knox all finished within the top 10 of the 10 a.m. overall standings as well.

Team riders also tallied a couple of victories in the 1 p.m. session, as Mark Batson won the Vet B 30+ division on ITP tires and Justin Paul finished an impressive second overall in the Junior B 22+ class. The Yamaha-mounted Batson is ranked third in his class after his second-consecutive class win. Paul, who missed round one, moved to within eight points of the class points leader with his sixth-straight podium finish (which includes three class victories) aboard his Honda ATV.

ITP youth riders earned third place on the youth session overall podium, a victory in the 70 CVT (6-11) class and two fourth-place finishes. Riding his Apex ATV, Dylan Walraven took third in the 90 Open (12-15) class and third overall on the youth podium. The lone youth-class victory went to DRR pilot Parker Henderson, who has five wins in 2014, in the 70 CVT (6-11) class. Marti Lantz in the Girls (8-15) class and Carter Kerens in the 90 Open (12-15) ranks, earned the two fourth-place finishes for Team ITP.

The next round of GNCC racing is slated for June 7-8, the Wiseco John Penton, in Millfield, Ohio.
