Video: What to Do if a Lion Opens Your Car Door

A family driving past a lion pride in South Africa got quite the scare when one of the felines decided to investigate their car. As the below video begins, a lion strolls over to the vehicle to see what all the hubbub is about. The car pulls up slightly, but the inquisitive lion is undeterred, even opening one of the car’s rear doors—much to the panic of its passengers.

“Oh my gosh I didn’t know they could do that!” somebody exclaimed.

So what did this family do? Just like probably everyone else who has found themselves in this scenario, they followed the three-step procedure of scream, shut, and lock.

Despite the scare, the video’s uploader Joshua Sutherland called it the “experience of a lifetime.” They certainly won’t be forgetting about that anytime soon.
