Video: Oil on Full-auto AR-15 Ignites During Test Fire

Shooting a gun that’s oozing machine oil might not be the best idea—especially if it’s a machine gun.

F-1 Firearms LLC recently decided to test some of their AR-15s with select-fire capability. However, they had just wiped down the barrels with machine oil, leaving plenty of flammable material behind. After the first 60 rounds, the barrel got hot enough to vaporize the oil and cause ignition.

Luckily no one was injured in this mishap. Just remember to wipe off excess lubricants before shooting.

Note to self: wipe machining oil off barrels before destructive testing. #Ar15flamethrower #burnbabyburn
