Minnesota Bear Licenses Available for Purchase Monday, Aug. 6

Bear licenses that weren’t purchased from the lottery bear drawing will be available to anyone interested in hunting the 2012 bear season starting at noon on Monday, Aug. 6, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

Licenses are available for purchase at any DNR license agent, the DNR License Center in St. Paul or online at mndnr.gov/buyalicense. Permits available vary by bear management unit. A list of available licenses will be available online at www.mndnr.gov/hunting/bear by noon on Friday, Aug. 3.

This year’s lottery made 6,000 licenses available in 11 permit areas. Bear hunters selected in the lottery were required to purchase their licenses by Aug. 1.
