North American Hunter September 2013 Issue Features an Unforgettable Grizzly Hunt

Pursuing brown bears or grizzlies in thick cover is an unforgettable experience, and its featured in the September issue of North American Hunter. Also in this issue, walk along with Editor-in-Chief Gordy Krahn as he hunts blue grouse at 10,000 feet, and don’t miss all the online extras, including a handgun safety tips video and a contest to win a Mission Crossbow. North American Hunter is a member-exclusive magazine of the North American Hunting Club, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.

In “Grizzly!” writer Tim Herald shares the finer points and gear needed for stalking grizzlies and brown bears. “Whether you hunt inland or on the coast – grizzlies or brown bears – stalking these apex predators is an experience like no other. Consider your options, tailor the hunt to your wants and needs, and savor every moment,” wrote Herald.

In “Giant Bow Booners,” author Mike Lambeth tells the story of a bowhunter who has tagged not just one Boone and Crockett Club-caliber buck with a bow, but eight!

In NAH’s most popular feature, “You Call the Shots,” Romeo is following Juliet into the sights of this bowhunter. What would you do when faced with this shot?

Other regular columns include: “NAHC Gear Giveaway,” where members could win a Garmin Fenix GPS watch, or many other items; in “Hunting Dogs,” author Joe Arnette gives advice for focusing on pick up and drop off of birds to avoid mouth problems; and in “Sporting Vehicles,” columnist Bruce W. Smith reviews the line of Polaris hunting machines. Lastly, don’t miss “Parting Shots” with Jeff Foxworthy, where he shares a hunting story about a playful joke that actually misfired on him—and the intended target found himself a 16-point buck.

In the “Field Test” section powered by StuffStuff, more than 3,600 members tested products valued at nearly $150,000, including Hi-Country Original Jerky Seasoning and Cure, and Cabela’s XT II Binocular.
