Retailers and Media Field Test Gear, Trends and Culture at OR’s 2012 Open Air Demo

Outdoor Retailer

Outdoor Retailer Open Air Demo(OAD), held August 1 at Jordanelle Reservoir, will bring together brands, retailers and media to experience the latest equipment across the outdoor spectrum including fly fishing, GPS/geocaching, paddlesports, SUP and trail running in the heart of Utah’s picturesque mountain settings.

OAD offers unprecedented access to the latest products and development teams from 150 of the top outdoor brands, well before they are available to the market. The OAD experience puts the most cutting-edge gear in the industry directly into the hands of key retail decision makers and media, setting in motion the trend stories for the coming season.

“The touchy-feely, that’s what you want,” said Wayne Bair of Search Gear from San Diego, Calif. “Even if a product I see here [at Open Air Demo] doesn’t fit into my niche or I don’t carry it; I can try it and tell other people about it.”

In addition to offering hundreds of demo opportunities, OAD exhibitors are hosting a number of events throughout the day (each offering prizes and/or raffles) to highlight products and the outdoor culture consumers are looking to tap into:
