Torch Apparel, the manufacturer of a ground-breaking line of high-intensity LED cycling helmets and packs, is proud to announce their product-line premier at Interbike 2012 in Las Vegas (Booth #28072).

Based in LA, Torch is the brainchild of Nathan Wills, a 32 year-old designer from Southern California who is an avid urban cyclist.  The company sprung from a Kickstarter campaign, with 641 backers over-subscribing the original goal of the campaign, bringing in more than $68,000 in funding.  Torch’s Kickstarter campaign is among the most successful in the website’s young history and, in fact, helped Torch secure additional equity investment.

The Torch product line currently consists of two products, the Torch T1 Helmet and the Torch Backpack, both of which feature projection LED technology that is designed to maximize both passive and active visibility.

The fully-adjustable T1 Helmet is the first helmet designed with for 360-degree visibility- effectively eliminating the need for a bike-mounted light.  The LED’s– powered by button cell batteries and recharged through a standard USB 2.0 charging port– have adjustable steady or blinking settings, a four hour run-time, and durable polycarbonate lenses to protect against the elements. The T1 weighs in at approximately 15 ounces and is available in two sizes, three colors and a choice of clear or smoked lenses.
MSRP: $120

The Torch Backpack, constructed with an exceptionally durable 1000 Denier Cordura Plus Nylon exterior and a waterproof tarpaulin Sunbrella liner, is illuminated by a red panel over projection LEDs, to give off a high-intensity red light. The LED’s on the backpack are powered by button cell batteries, have adjustable steady or blinking settings, a four hour run-time, and can be recharged through a standard USB 2.0 charging port. The backpack is available in black or red with black trim.

Torch products will debut at select retailers in Spring 2013. For more information on Torch Apparel, please visit:www.Torchapparel.com or visit http://www.facebook.com/torchapparel.
