Snakehead fish caught in Central Park pond in Burnaby is being analyzed by Simon Fraser University and other researchers.

How can an invasive species like the snakehead survive so well in a foreign environment? What natural advantages does it have that put it ahead of endemic fish for resources? How did the snakehead find its way to foreign waters in the first place? Jackson Landers, author of Eating Aliens and Preserving the Wild, gathered with media in Haven’s Kitchen in New York City to sample a few recipes made from the fish and also to take time to explain what he’s learned through research and experience about snakeheads, also known as “frankenfish” or “fishzilla.”
