Youth Education Summit Scholarship Winners

Fairfax, Virginia - The last night of this year’s Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) featured a closing dinner and presentation of scholarships. A total of $15,000 was awarded to summit participants who performed exceptionally during in the debates and speeches conducted during our seven-day, all expense paid educational experience in Washington, DC.

Held June 25 – July 1, Y.E.S. encourages young adults to become active and knowledgeable U.S. citizens by learning about the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the federal government. Since the program’s inception in 1996, more than $385,000 in scholarships have been awarded.

Here’s who received this year’s scholarships:

  • $3,000 – Nora Faris, Concodria, Missouri
  • $3,000 – Eli West, Omaha, Nebraska
  • $2,000 – Samuel Evans, New Woodstock, New York
  • $2,000 – Bethany Janzen, Happy Valley, Oregon
  • $1,000 – Emily Allen, Edgewood, New Mexico
  • $1,000 – Jeffrey Dow, Anchorage, Alaska
  • $1,000 – Aiden Koplovsky, Duxbury, Massachusetts
  • $1,000 – Kaytlyn Leonard, Liberty, North Carolina
  • $1,000 – Wyatt Saltarelli, Montgomery, Texas

A second round of scholarships, the Y.E.S. Grand Scholarship, coincidentally valued at $15,000, is also available to this year’s participants. To be considered for those scholarships, Y.E.S. alum will have nine months to create a portfolio detailing their efforts to introduce NRA programs like Women On Target, Friends of NRA and the Eddie Eagle GunSafe® Program into their communities.
