This week on BOA, host, Joe Coogan teams up with long-time outdoor writer and field editor for NRA publications, Bryce Towsley, to hunt quail over top-notch bird dogs in classic South Georgia burnt-pine quail country.
Coogan and Towsley, outfitted by Quail Country Plantation near Blakely, GA, enjoy explosive flushes and exciting gunning when the dogs lock-up near cover—get ready for the action to heat up. To meet the challenge of these fast flushing quail, Coogan and Towsley use Benelli’s Ultra Light 28-gauge semi-automatic shotgun and Franchi’s new 20-gauge guns—the Affinity semi-auto and the Instinct L and SL over/unders, stoked with Federal Premium’s 20-gauge ammo.
Later, Coogan and Towsley meet up with Team Benelli 3-Gun Shooters, Rob Romero and Jansen Jones at the American International Marksmanship Academy to get some tips on shooting and speed-loading Benelli’s M2 shotgun, the top shotgun on the 3-gun competition circuit.
