Cabela’s Columbus is pleased to announce that an area fisherman is now one of the newest members of the Cabela’s Pro Staff team. Local fishing expert, Elmer Heyob, will be a valuable resource in providing instruction on proper techniques, what products will allow for a more rewarding experience and be an excellent Cabela’s community ambassador.
Elmer obtained a BS in Fisheries Management from The Ohio State University. He has 30+ years of experience; raising muskies and other fish species at State Fish Hatcheries and working with other biologist managing bass, muskies, crappie, trout and saugeye populations at local and State levels. Finally, he was responsible for the administration of all six ODNR Division of Wildlife, State Fish Hatcheries, before retiring.
“It’s really exciting to have Elmer as part of the Cabela’s Pro Staff team. Having someone of this caliber here in Central Ohio is a tremendous asset,” said Derrek Shively, retail marketing manager. “Cabela’s is proud to offer customers not only the gear, but also the expert knowledge to pursue their outdoor passions.”
Elmer will be presenting a seminar, “The Fine Art of Catching Monster Muskie” on Saturday, March 1at 12:00PM in the Cabela’s Conference Room. This is part of the Cabela’s Spring Great Outdoor Days free seminar series occurring Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2 throughout the store.
