Lindner, Kalkofen, Kumar Announce Target Walleye

What do Al and Ron Lindner, Jim Kalkofen and Jay Kumar have in common? A joint effort to reinvigorate walleye media with an initiative called Target Walleye.

“This has been a long time coming,” says Ron. “We have been watching the walleye market, as we always do, and have seen for some time that it is seriously underserved in terms of media. We weren’t sure what to do about that until we saw the success that Jay Kumar’s BassBlaster email was having. We talked to Jay, brought walleye industry trailblazer Jim Kalkofen on board and here we are at Target Walleye.”

Like the BassBlaster, Target Walleye’s main product is an email that brings the best of the walleye world directly to walleye anglers. “Today’s public wants information and news that’s short, sweet, convenient and now,” Ron says. “Using mobile media and social media to do that is the only thing that makes sense.

“Mobile media is the only growing form of media in the world, and it’s growing fast. That’s why it is Target Walleye’s main platform.”

Target Walleye will be distributed by email, website and social media, and soon will be available through a Target Walleye app and by text. “Any way anyone of any age wants to receive walleye information digitally, we’ve got you covered,” Ron says. “We can’t wait to reinvigorate this key marine and fishing market.”

Target Walleye will cover the open water and ice markets, and will begin a twice-weekly publishing schedule this fall. For advertising opportunities, contact Jim Kalkofen at the number below.
