Featuring: The Savage Arms Model 11/111 Lightweight Hunter.
One of Savage’s newest rifles is the model 11 Lightweight Hunter. This lightweight rifle is perfect for the hunter that struggles to carry heavier guns. Weighing around 5 1/2 pounds, this model 11 rifle is a tack driver.
This is a heck of a gun. I’ve got one in .270 and my buddy Ron, CEO of Savage Arms, Inc., has one in 6.5 CREEDMOOR. It’s a freakin’ sweet gun, and a must-have for the serious Western hunter.
The Savage Arms Model 11 Lightweight Hunter,Quality
The quality of this rifle is top notch. The walnut stock is exactly what you're looking for in a classic rifle. Beautifully oiled American walnut, this will be a rifle that you will be glad to pass on to your children or grandchildren.
Reliability
Very reliable. Smooth bolt, magazine feeds each and every time, and with the Savage Accutrigger, you can adjust it to your liking so that it fires with exactly the amount of trigger pressure right for you.
Price/Value
In order to make a lightweight rifle, a lot of work has to go into it. There are obvious things like the unique bolt, and the stock that have had all unecessary material taken out. Then there are the things we don't see, the "behind the scenes" stuff that goes into the design of a rifle of this quality. So, when I saw the price, I was very impressed that Savage could put a lightweight rifle of this quality together for what they did. MSRP starts at $875.00.
Referability
I would recommend this rifle to anyone...I especially like it in the .270 caliber. It's a great rifle for spot and stalk in any environment, but it especially excels in higher elevations where every ounce you are packing counts. For the western hunter, it is a MUST HAVE.
