Inaugural International Defensive Pistol Association World Championship

IDPA held its first World Championship match in Frostproof, FL at the Universal Shooting Academy, September 21st through September 24th, 2011. Eighteen countries plus the United States participated with 387 competitors, completing more than 20 stages of fire.

Champions were named in each of the five divisions in IDPA. Sponsors comprised a veritable “Who’s Who” in the outdoors industry, including firearms and accessory manufacturers, publishers, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Team results showed the U.S. Team at number one, with a total of 1710.32, followed by Venezuela with 2217.88 and Poland with 2236.91.

Most Accurate Shooter was James Meyers. Top Senior was Tom Yost. High Lady was Tierani Hendrix and High Law Enforcement was Robert Vogel. Our Match Director was Curt Nichols.

The 2012 National Match Director will be Frank Glover.
