Nebraska Spring Turkey Permits Available Jan. 9

Lincoln, NE – Spring turkey hunting permits for 2012 will be available from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission starting at 1 p.m. Central Time on Jan. 9.

The archery season is March 25-May 31. The youth shotgun season is April 7-May 31 and the regular shotgun season is April 14-May 31.

The 2012 spring permit prices, not including issuing fees, are: resident turkey, $23; nonresident turkey, $90; and resident and nonresident youth turkey, $5. Youth permits are for hunters who are under age 16 on the opening day of the youth archery season. All turkey hunters, except residents under age 16, are required to have a valid Nebraska Habitat Stamp.

Each spring turkey permit allows a hunter to take one male or bearded female turkey with bow and arrow in the archery season or a shotgun in the shotgun season. A person may purchase up to three spring turkey permits.
