Colorado’s Barr Lake Celebrates Youth Waterfowl Hunting Event

Join Barr Lake State Park for the opening of youth waterfowl hunting season on Saturday, Sept. 22. The hunting blinds will be open and can be reserved by calling 1-800-846-9453.  The youth hunting season is restricted to boys and girls under 18 years old and a mentor is required. Mentors cannot hunt during youth seasons.

Each youth must have a valid hunting license and each vehicle must have a daily or annual state parks pass.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife will also host a waterfowl workshop with experts from Delta Waterfowl and Dicks’ Sporting Goods from 10 a.m. to noon at the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory amphitheater, located at the north entrance to Barr Lake at Bromley Ave and Piccadilly Road. The experts will be providing free giveaways, tips for s successful hunt and hunter safety information. Please call the Barr Lake Nature Center to reserve your spot for the workshop at 303-659-6005.
