The National Tactical Officers Association Presents the Webinar “Less-Lethal – Current Trends and Initiatives”

The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) will be hosting a new webinar for NTOA members on Less-Lethal: Current Trends and Initiatives. Sgt. Don Whitson, the NTOA Less-Lethal Section Chair, will be discussing current programs the NTOA is involved with regarding less-lethal issues and national initiatives. The webinar will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 2 p.m. EDT. The webinar is available to NTOA members only. Law enforcement officers can join the NTOA with a 25% off membership through August 21, 2013. Registration for the webinar for current members can be made on the NTOA website.

The webinar will also include discussion on the contents of the NTOA less-lethal instructor course covering specialty impact projectiles, chemical agents and flash/sound diversionary devices. Sgt. Whitson will also address questions from law enforcement professionals on a variety of related issues including the new ATF Ruling 2012-4 on the storage of explosive actuated tactical devices by law enforcement.

Sgt. Don Whitson is the Chair of the NTOA Less-Lethal Section. He has worked for the Fort Collins (CO) Police Services for over 25 years. Sgt. Whitson is a delegate to the NIJ Less Lethal Technologies Working Group, the International Law Enforcement Forum and other groups. He is also recognized in United States Federal District Court as a use-of-force expert and is frequently called upon to provide his expertise
