Indiana’s Lake County Parks to Stock Catfish in October
Fishing at two Lake County parks will get a boost this fall as the Department of Natural Resources stocks channel catfish through its Go FishIN in the City program.
Rosser Park in Lake Station will be stocked with 1,400 channel catfish and Robinson Lake in Hobart will be stocked with 500. Both stockings will be in mid-October. The catfish are 8 inches long at stocking time.
Managed by Hobart Township Park Department, Rosser Park has a 30-acre lake with a boat ramp and shoreline fishing.
Robinson Lake is a 16-acre lake managed by the Hobart Parks Department and Friends of Robinson Lake. The entire shoreline is accessible to anglers.
The stockings are part of Go FishIN in the City, an effort by the DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife to improve fishing opportunities in Indiana’s urban areas. For more information on the program, visit dnr.IN.gov/dnr/fishwild/7508.htm.
