Houston Safari Club Provides Grant to NRA Foundation in Support of Youth Hunter Education

Houston Safari Club (HSC) has provided a grant to The NRA Foundation in support of their Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) program.

The grant was specifically provided through HSC’s affiliate organization, The American Conservation and Education Society (ACES). The donation, in the amount of $10,000, will be used to help promote the expansion of the YHEC program. The YHEC program has reached an estimated 15,000 young hunters annually since its inception in 1985. In addition, the funding provided by Houston Safari Club will support the development of trained volunteer mentors for the program.

“The NRA Foundation is grateful for the partnership and continued support of Houston Safari Club. Houston Safari Club’s grant will allow the continued growth and enhancement of the YHEC program for the next generation of hunters,” stated Wayne Sheets, Executive Director, The NRA Foundation.

“Houston Safari Club and ACES have always been strong advocates of youth outdoor education,” states Joe Betar, HSC Executive Director. “We are pleased to provide our support of the NRA Foundation’s mission to educate young hunters and train mentors in the areas of outdoor skills and safety training. These programs are vitally important to ensure the longevity of sport hunting and conservation.”
