E2 Bass Blog: Come Fish Against Me in Support of Wounded Vets

On Sept. 8, 2017, the third annual Optima Batteries Healing Heroes in Action Tour is coming to Gull Lake, Minnesota, and I’m so excited to have once again partnered with Optima Batteries for this awesome event. There’s one final detail left to finish, though: We need two more anglers to fill the fourth spot in this friendly competition — and it could be you and your chosen partner!

This year, professional anglers Ish Monroe, Todd Faircloth and I will each partner with a combat-wounded Purple Heart recipient for the tournament on Gull Lake, with the fourth team to fill the bracket being the highest bidder on my Facebook page. Just enter your bid in the comments section, then revisit the page often to make sure you stay on top.

Bidding ends at noon (CST) this Friday (Aug. 11, 2017), and all proceeds go to the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation, a wonderful organization that helps wounded military veterans heal mentally and physically through fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities.

I started the Healing Heroes program, with lots of help from Optima Batteries, General Tires and several of my other sponsors in 2015, and it’s something of which I’m very proud. It’s my way of helping our wounded vets enjoy this great sport, and maybe take their minds off other things for a while. It’s a day of fun, fishing and friendship, and really, I get just as much from it as they do.

That’s why I’m inviting you to come fish against me, Todd, Ish and three true heroes on September 8. Sure, the winning team will receive a fantastic prize package — an Optima battery and charger, a set of General Tires, a Lowrance Elite-9 Ti combo, a Pelican cooler, a Bass Pro Shops gift card and lures from Megabass and Zoom, among other things — but the real reward will be in the time we all spend together on and off the water.

Remember, the bidding deadline is this Friday at noon central time. So, win the bid, then bring your boat, tackle and partner — and let’s go fishing!
