These days, bolt-action rifles are starting to take a backseat to semi-auto rifles in the hunting department. However, the tech and the style of hunting are not dead yet. Cadex Defence, well known for producing high-quality precision bolt-action rifles, has just introduced two new hunting rifles to their CDX-R7 lineup including the SPTR (Sporter) and theĀ  CRBN (Carbon). These two new hunting rifles will be available in both long-action and short-action variants and incorporate modern technologies and materials to make them truly unique and worthy of the biggest hunts available on the North American continent.

The CDX-R7 CRBN Series rifle is designed with back country hunters in mind. Unlike other manufacturers out there aiming at the absolute lightest materials available, Cadex oriented this rifle towards a perfect balance between weight reduction and no compromise on stability. We equipped the CDX-R7 CRBN model with the best carbon fiber barrel on the market: Proof-Research.

Not everyone is a firm believer in carbon fiber barrels. Some people are more conservative and they prefer a traditional stainless steel barrel. For this reason we designed the CDX-R7 SPTR, a variant equipped with a sporter profiled stainless barrel. We added some longitudinal flutes for weight reduction, faster cooling and nicer look. The CDX-R7 SPTR shares the same features as the CDX-R7 CRBN except the barrel type, which makes it more affordable.

Both rifles will be made available in either long-action calibers including 300 PRC, and 338 Lapua Magnum, while Short action options for both rifles include 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 308 Win, and 300 WSM. Starting price for the SPTR model is $2,769.95/$3,079.95, and the CRBN starts at $3,359.95/$4,169.95. Both rifles will be available with or without a Cerakote finish and many color options are available ranching from standard earth tones to some of the more flashy colors that Cadex is known for like Orange, White, and Stormtrooper White.
