Louie Stout
Louie Stout has been a full-time outdoors freelancer since 1987. A senior writer for Bassmaster and Bassmaster Magazine, he has spent the past 20 years covering Bassmaster tournaments and writing feature and how-to stories.
Prior to launching his freelance career, Stout spent 17 years as a newspaper writer and editor for the Kokomo, Ind. Tribune and Greentown, Ind. News, and as sports editor of the Michigan City, Ind. News-Dispatch.
He was inducted into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a “Legendary Journalist” in 2005 and has won more than 50 state, regional and national writing and photography awards.
His work as appeared in Outdoor Life, Field and Stream, Sports Afield and several other national and regional publications.
Stout also has co-authored two of the nation’s best selling bass fishing books with six-time Bassmaster Angler of Year Kevin VanDam.
When he’s not writing or on the road with the Bassmaster tour, he’s bass fishing around his home in Jones, Mich., where he lives with his wife Deb of 42 years.
