Better Bow Hunting from Stands: Practice makes Perfect

One of the best tips I can give any archer is to practice as you hunt. This applies on many levels.

If you are hunting from elevated treestands, practice from that height as well as practicing from the actual stand! You will be surprised how the shooting platform shrinks when your 30 feet up! The archer must remember that when shooting from an elevated platform, the angle will cause their pins that were set on the ground to be off. The 20 yard pin that you set on the ground, may send the arrow over your target’s back when shot from 30 feet up. The bow sights must be set for shooting from an elevated position.I always have a 25 foot rope tied to the bottom of my stand; that way I know I am at the same height for practicing and hunting.

A little prep and practice time will pay off!
