Rigging a Tube Jig: Texas Style

   07.22.11

I use this for rigging up a tube jig that will last longer.  Start with a small worm rattle pushed into a 1/4 inch plastic tubing. Leave the plastic tube about 1/8 to 1/4 inch longer on one end of rattle. Whe you are ready to rig, insert the rattle extra tube first into your jig. Make sure when you first put your hook in that the hook goes through the plastic then rig the hook as normal. Now your rattle will never fall out and will not break if you hit seawall or a dock.

You can also make a small slit in tube to allow the back side of the hook to slide through easier. This also makes the tube last about ten good fish longer. This jig is a really great set-up for salmon, trout, and small mouthed bass.
