Reporting to the Director of Bell Marketing, the Events Manager leads planning and execution of Bell’s presence at tradeshows, consumer events and coordinates Bell’s grassroots and sports marketing efforts including sponsorship of athletes and organizations. Serves as core member of the Bell Brand Marketing team for both Bike and Powersports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead planning, execution and tracking of events portion of marketing plan:
  • Develop overall plan for all Bell trade and consumer event marketing by evaluating and recommending key events in which to participate.
  • Maintain project plan document that includes event timelines, estimated audience/impressions, resource requirements (staffing for events, costs, etc.) and deliverables (collateral, SWAG, etc.) as well as metrics for success.
  • Maintain calendar of events and implement a system that enables and anticipates long term planning and effective event management.
  • Act as Bell Brand Ambassador at events by demonstrating enthusiasm for, and articulating comprehensive knowledge of Bell brand and all Bell products.
  • Partner with sales to leverage events and associated promotions with accounts/rep groups and to coordinate appropriate rep support as needed.
  • In collaboration with Internal Art Department and Brand Managers develop and deliver any and all artwork materials required for events and tradeshows.
  • Create and distribute clear, concise re-caps of all events (within 2 weeks after event) to all relevant stakeholders (internal employees, PR agency, rep group, etc.)
  • Provide year-end report on key learnings from execution of plan to include success factors and challenges (with implications) and future opportunities.
  • Management of all tradeshow and consumer event logistics:
  • Coordination with event management, outside vendors, and internal partners
  • Negotiation of event contracts and fees
  • Communication and organization internally as it applies to status needs of event
  • On-site event staffing and training of staff
  • Ongoing maintenance, inventory and tracking of event physical assets (tent, banners, etc.) including responsibility for re-design as needed for new products and/or new events
  • Create and manage event portion of the marketing budget ensuring plan is executed within budgetary guidelines
  • Generate real time content at events for social media marketing
  • Support planning and execution of other grassroots marketing efforts
  • Support Sports Marketing Manager’s efforts in athlete endorsement
  • Inform team of potential sponsorship opportunities with recommendations
  • Stay on top of grassroots marketing trends and advise team on effective grassroots marketing strategies
  • Also support Brand Managers with various projects as needed, including:
  • Public relations supports
  • Work closely on overall brand presence at relevant events through design, collateral and events within the event
  • Manage collection of relevant event and sports marketing information for email marketing campaigns and communications
  • Market research
  • Name development

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • 2+ years in events coordination/planning
  • Experience in or passion for bike, outdoor and/or action sports industry a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Clean driving record and qualified to rent car/truck/van
  • Computer terminal use 6 hours per day. Moving boxes of products for shipping. Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Standard office. Domestic and International travel to include weekends and for periods as long as a week at a time.
