New Berlin, Wisconsin– Sportsman Channel, Ted’s Montana Grill, Comcast and Mule Deer Foundation teamed up to host a successful Hunt.Fish.Feed event in Atlanta, Ga., this past Wednesday, May 18, serving lunch to more than 250 of those in need in downtown Atlanta. Hunt.Fish.Feed, created by Sportsman Channel, is a unique outreach program that taps an underutilized food source-game meat and fish donated by sportsmen-to feed those struggling with hunger across America. Special guests include CNN founder and philanthropist Ted Turner, his son, Beau Turner, and Ted’s Montana Grill co-founder and CEO George McKerrow, Jr. Ted’s Montana Grill donated and prepared 50 lbs of bison with their Corporate Chef, Chris Raucci.
Additionally, Sportsman Channel’s long-time partner, Mule Deer Foundation, donated 50 lbs of locally-harvested venison to make a second meal of Venison Chili using Ted’s Montana Grill’s recipe.
“On behalf of the 80 plus million American sportsmen we represent, Sportsman Channel extends a grateful thank you to all of our partners in this event.” said Gavin Harvey, CEO Sportsman Channel. “They are making a major contribution to this community and inspiring us to do even more to activate our sportsmen in other communities.”
The meal consisted of Bison Meatloaf, Baked Squash Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Roll, Cookies and freshly-squeezed Lemonade. The event was hosted at Wheat Street Pantry, part of the Wheat Street Baptist Church in downtown Atlanta.
Sportsman Channel’s next Hunt.Fish.Feed event is on June 13 in downtown Chicago at THREE shelter locations. The event will utilize more than 200 lbs of donated venison by Mule Deer Foundation.
