   05.27.11

Hundreds of thrill seekers will descend upon Southern West Virginia from June 8-12 for the annual Dirt Days festival. Dirt Days is a one-of-a-kind event that will please the whole family. The festival takes place at ThunderBlast Park at 3-Mile curve in Logan, WV and combines daytime riding on the Hatfield-McCoy Trails with a full slate of exciting evening activities.

Dirt Days attendees will have the rare opportunity to ride their ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes directly to over 200 miles of Hatfield-McCoy trails on the Rockhouse and Bearwallow trail systems. The festival also boasts some fast-paced entertainment, including an ATV rodeo, mud pit, drag racing course and wheelie contest.

Non-riding activities include a movie night, Texas hold-em tournament and mini golf. There will also be a stocked catfish pond; attendees are encouraged to bring their fishing rods.

Festival packages begin at $99. Packages that include permits, meals and camping are available. Participants can also register for gear-related prizes, such as helmets, goggles, gloves and a winch.

On-site camping is available. Attendees with alternate lodging can drop their trailers off at the event.

For more information and to register, visit the Dirt Days site: http://www.thunderblastonline.com or call 1-800-592-2217.

Hatfield-McCoy Trails was created by the West Virginia Legislature to generate economic development through tourism in nine southern West Virginia counties. The system comprises more than 500 miles of off-road trails in six systems scattered over southern West Virginia. Each system is open 365 days a year to ATVs, dirt bikes, select utility vehicles (UTVs), mountain bikes, horses, and hikers. Many of the trail systems also offer community connecting trails that allow visitors to access “ATV-friendly towns.”
