Teko Socks Announces Partnership with Hyalite Outdoor Group

Bozeman, Mont., Jul 06, 2011 -Officials from Teko Socks announce today that the company is moving its U.S. operations from Boulder, Colo. to Bozeman, Mont. as part of a partnership with the Hyalite Outdoor Group.

The newly forged affiliation with Hyalite Outdoor Group — the team behind Pacific Outdoor Equipment and Baladeo USA, brings new talent to Teko, allows for more efficient distribution and fulfillment channels, and provides additional strength for the fast-growing company, while enabling Teko to remain independent and maintain its core user culture.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with such a strong company who has great support structures in place, knows the industry well, and understands our core vision, mission and values,” says Gordon Fraser, CEO of Teko Socks global operations. “This is a truly complimentary partnership that will help us continue our current momentum and maintain our commitment to make the most sustainable performance socks available today.”

The outdoor lifestyle of Bozeman is a great extension of Teko’s mountain-sports roots and provides a tremendous test bed for the development team to continue to innovate the most sustainable and highest-performing merino wool socks. Teko will continue to incorporate renewable and sustainable materials such as high-quality merino wool and ultra-fine recycled polyester (tekoPOLY) as base ingredients. Going forward, Hyalite Outdoor’s Bozeman headquarters will house Teko’s sales management, customer service, operations, and Western U.S. warehousing.

The new Bozeman facility will also complement Teko’s dedication to sustainable manufacturing and distribution through its direct conservation efforts, including onsite solar-photovoltaic power system, which offsets the office’s power consumption. Additionally, the new warehousing facility allows Teko to service its Western U.S. dealers with greater speed while reducing its shipping carbon footprint. Teko will maintain its Eastern U.S. warehouse facility as well to continue to service dealers located in the Eastern U.S. with efficiency and the lowest environmental impact.

“These new changes breathe an expanded energy behind the brand and a promise for the continuation of Teko’s strong retail partnerships and commitment to an environmentally sustainable company culture,” says Greg Garrigues, president of Hyalite Outdoor Group. “These improvements will help move the company forward without altering the many values that define the Teko brand, including its users’ and company’s ethos, its environmentally sound sourcing and manufacturing practices, and its unyielding commitment to make the best-performing merino wool socks in the world.”

There has been a lot of great momentum and new products coming out from Teko over the last year, including its newest collection, S3 SIN3RGI socks. This collection comprises hiking and lifestyle socks, which feature a unique blend of Teko’s 100-percent North American sourced merino wool and its proprietary post-consumer recycled tekoPOLY, which is sourced from recycled water bottles in the U.S. Teko will also be unveiling new products at the forthcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2011 show, including an expansion on the SIN3RGI line and their EVAPOR8 ultralight technologies. All of Teko’s socks are still manufactured in the U.S.

Teko Socks was founded in 2004 with the goal of creating the best socks on the planet and the best socks for the planet. Teko continues to build its trusted brand name as a leading innovator in the performance merino sock category while continuing to further its strong commitment to sustainable business practices. Teko has pioneered the sustainable performance sock category through the use of sustainable business practices and sourcing, and also by utilizing bluesign® certification, GOTS certified organic merino wool and post-consumer recycled polyesters. Teko is also a winner of the 2005 Backpacker Magazine Editors’ Choice Award, and is the only sock company in the industry to receive such an honor.

Teko Socks will be heading out to the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market show in August. Check them out at booth no. 6017. For more information about Teko Socks, please visit them online at http://www.tekosocks.com.
