Beretta U.S.A. Names New General Manager

ACCOKEEK, MD — Cav. Ugo Gussalli Beretta announced today that Beretta U.S.A. Corp. has hired, effective immediately, Mr. Jeffrey Cooper to serve as that company’s General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. Cooper comes to Beretta U.S.A. from Stanley Black & Decker where he served most recently as Global President of Black & Decker Products, a $1.3 billion company. Cooper started at Black & Decker in 1993 as Sales Manager for all Black and Decker Business, after which he rose through the ranks of that company to become Channel Manager of Black & Decker’s Outdoor Products Division, then as Director of Marketing for the company’s Power Tools & Accessories Division, then in various Vice-Presidential capacities.

A Business Management graduate of Salisbury State University in Maryland, Jeffrey Cooper’s background involved all aspects of business development, from sales and marketing to product development and industrialization. Ironically, Cooper was born and raised in the same county in southern Maryland where Beretta U.S.A. is headquartered.

“We are very pleased to receive within our Group someone with the skills, experience and clear-minded business approach that Jeffrey Cooper showed from his work history and from our many meetings with him,” commented Cav. Beretta. “We are confident he will play an important role in taking Beretta U.S.A. and our integrated international business efforts into the next successful stage of our growth and development.”

“To work for Beretta, with its combination of great history and fresh, innovative approach to providing meaningful solutions to its business, government and consumer customers is a great opportunity,” Cooper added. “There is remarkable energy and intelligence within Beretta U.S.A. and I look forward to working with my team here and with our friends throughout the firearm industry and in Beretta U.S.A.’s sister companies to advance our mutual interests in a profitable way.”

Beretta, established in 1526, is the oldest industrial dynasty in the world tracing its roots through 16 generations of continuous family ownership. Firearms bearing the Beretta name have been sold for almost 500 years. Beretta USA Corp. was founded in 1977 and supplies the standard sidearm to the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, Beretta manufactures, distributes and markets a complete line of firearms, accessories and apparel. Beretta also owns and operates six retail Beretta Gallery stores worldwide.
