AES Offering Walt Nicoson Memorial Youth Scholarship

For 2012, the Arizona Elk Society (AES) will award three scholarships for High School Seniors and College Students

Application Deadline Jan. 16th, 2012

The AES has two scholarships available to Graduating high school seniors continuing on to college who exhibit a commitment to wildlife and the outdoors and who participate in school-related responsibilities and activities.  The scholarships available for the 2012-13 academic year are in the amount of $750 and $1000.

There is also one scholarship for College students currently enrolled in and attending college who exhibit a commitment to wildlife and the outdoors in the amount of $1000.

AES scholarships are geared towards students enrolled in a Wildlife related field, i.e. Wildlife Officer, Wildlife Biologist or certain Forestry fields dealing with wildlife.

The Arizona Elk Society (AES) founded in 2001 by a group of dedicated sportsmen and women wanting to form an organization that would cater to the specific needs of elk in Arizona. The AES is a 501c-3 non-profit corporation.

The mission of the Arizona Elk Society is to raise funds to benefit elk and other wildlife through habitat conservation and restoration and to preserve our hunting heritage for present and future generations.

In support of our mission we are committed to:

-Conserving and enhancing wildlife habitat in Arizona.
-Protecting and promoting our hunting heritage.
-Promoting sound wildlife management and habitat through partnering with government agencies and other organizations.
-Implementing special programs for youth education regarding conservation, hunting and outdoor activities.
-Informing the general public about issues concerning wildlife conservation, as well as scientific and biological wildlife and habitat management.

Being a State based Organization all the money raised is used in Arizona for the benefit of Elk Habitat, Elk management and our Youth Programs.
