Olinger Wins Walmart Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division on Potomac River

WHAT: Boater Terry Olinger of The Plains, Va., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 38 pounds, 6 ounces Sept. 24-25 to win $5,197 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus in the Walmart BFL Shenandoah Division tournament on the Potomac River. Olinger fished mid-lake and used a variety of baits to catch his bass.

W HAT:Robert Gerber of The Plains, Va., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 30 pounds, 7 ounces Sept. 24-25 to win $2,599 in the Co-angler Division. Gerber fished a grass pattern and also used a variety of baits to catch his bass.

NOTES: The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Nov. 3-5 Regional Championship on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
