K-Var to Sell Zastava Pistols and Small Bore Rifles

One of the cool things I learned at SHOT this year was that K-Var would begin selling new-production small bore sporting rifles and pistols from the famous Zastava small arms factory in Serbia. Some shooting enthusiasts may recognize the Zastava name from the high-quality “Yugo” AK parts kits and rifles that are still sold throughout the American market today for a premium. These guns look to build upon the good reputation for Yugoslavian/Serbian arms established with those AKs.

The new pistols outwardly resemble SIG handguns and are available in .40 and 9mm. They offer an economical (one of the 9mm guns is only $280) option for people looking for a good shooter or carry gun. Two of the 9mm models and the .40 model have short under-barrel rails as well. I got to handle one of the 9mm pistols at SHOT and they feel really solid – the picture at the top of the post is one of the EZ9 pistols in my hand.

The small bore bolt action rifles will be available in .22LR, .22 Win Mag and .17 HMR and are based off the Mauser action. They’ve got cold forged chrome lined barrels and all the other bells and whistles you expect from a high-quality sporting arm these days, including beautiful walnut stocks. The small bore rifles will complement the larger bore Zastava bolt guns that K-Var already offers.

Update: K-Var announced today that they will also be offering left-handed Zastava rifles on a special order basis…here are the details as received via email:

These left-handed, bolt-action rifles will be built so that the bolt is on the left side making it easy to use for any lefty gun enthusiast.
