Global Family Travels is pleased to announce its upcoming summer tours to Turkey and India. The company is currently accepting applications for these tours, specifically geared for families with elementary to high school aged children. Global Family Travels’ founder, Jennifer Spatz, is confident that either tour experience will have a powerful impact on participating young travelers and their families.
The company’s Discover Turkey Tour (June 16 – July 1) begins in the minaret-filled skyline of Istanbul, where East meets West, then moves south through the surreal landscape of Cappadocia, and ends with nearly a week to explore the country’s pristine Mediterranean coastline by boat, or gulet. This tour offers travelers the complete Turkish experience, including delicious Turkish cuisine, a home-stay in a small mountain town and a visit to the famous archeological site of Ephesus.
Global Family Travels’ Family Journey to Ladakh, India(July 29 – August 12) includes the unique opportunity to live and work with local Himalayan villagers on an environmental service project and to learn their ways. Often called “Little Tibet”, this region of India is a true paradise of Buddhist philosophy and sustainable lifestyle. Travelers from around the world come to Ladakh to learn about Tibetan culture, themselves and the human experience as it has existed here largely unchanged for two thousand years.
Whether in India or Turkey, Global Family Travels provides adventurous spirits and their loved ones with a unique spin on the old family vacation. Participants on a Global Family tour immerse themselves in the culture of their host communities through home-stays, Global Family Travels is reaching out to families who want the travel experience of a lifetime this summer. Participants on a Global Family Travels’ tour immerse themselves in the culture of their host communities through home-stays, cultural and historical sightseeing, and service projects. Experienced guides offer safe access to meaningful cultural exchanges that independent travelers may miss.
“We want parents to feel comfortable taking their children to places that may seem unusual at first,” says Spatz. “The culturally rich communities we work in offer visiting families profound experiences that not only bond them together, but show them we are all part of a much larger global family.” A valuable lesson, indeed, that may be hard to convey through lectures in a classroom or pages in a book. The company’s tagline “Expand your Family Circle” conveys the heart of its mission.
Sign your family up for the adventure of a lifetime! Applications for both 2012 Summer trips are being accepted until April 30th. Families are encouraged to ask about 2013 tour dates as well. For more information, email info(at)globalfamilytravels(dot)com or visit http://www.globalfamilytravels.com.
