Indiana’s forests will star in an hour-long special episode of “Indiana Expeditions,” airing April 26, at 8 p.m. EST, on Indianapolis public television station WFYI.

The episode, titled “Forests at Work,” is the result of a collaboration between WFYI and the DNR Division of Forestry.

The show will examine the social, ecological and economic importance of Indiana’s forests. Viewers will get a close-up look at lumber and veneer production, visit Purdue University’s genetic and tissue culture labs, watch an arborist in action, witness the science of urban forestry, and visit a designated Indiana Tree Farm, two state nature preserves and more.

Hosted by Rick Crosslin and currently in its fourth season, “Indiana Expeditions” has won many national and regional awards, including three Emmys.
