The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Valentine Lions Club will conduct a youth fishing clinic on May 5 at the Valentine State Fish Hatchery.
Registration is at 9:30 a.m. and the clinic starts at 10 at the hatchery northeast of Valentine. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. Free rod-reel combos and tackle boxes provided by the Nebraska Walleye Association and donations from other sponsors will be given to the first 100 registrants. Lunch will be provided.
Participants will learn about knot-tying, fish identification, water and boating safety, and other fishing topics before fishing one of the hatchery ponds stocked with rainbow trout.
