SSSF Announces Board of Trustees Officer Election Results

The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) held its 2012 Election of Officers recently and the results were announced today.
For 2012, Louise K. Terry will serve as Chair of the SSSF Board of Trustees, Michael Hampton Jr. will serve as Vice-Chairman and Denis Karnosky will serve as Secretary/Treasurer.
Louise K. Terry was born in Ithaca, NY. After graduating from Ithaca High School she attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs for 3 years and then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University. Louise was a career employee of IBM Corp. in Product & Systems Development for 35 years, 28 years of which was spent in management positions; last 12 years in Executive positions of responsibility. At time of retirement was Vice President, Storage Group, responsible for managing a team providing all customer service & support for the IBM Storage Products family worldwide.
Louise has had a lifelong relationship with the shooting sports, starting as a kid at age 10 hunting with her Dad, Larry Kolar and continuing with her husband, Bill. She became a member of NSSA in 1959 when she began shooting registered skeet as a Junior shooter. She “retired” from competitive shooting in 1967 after she married and was starting her career, but returned to skeet with her husband in 1977, and she has been shooting registered skeet ever since. She also joined the NSCA & the ATA in the late 1980s, shooting occasional tournaments in trap and sporting clays.
She is currently a Life Member of NSSA, NSCA and the ATA; also a member of the NRA and Safari Club International. Louise has been active in various aspects of NSSA governance since returning to shooting in the late 70’s including serving as an NSSA Officer, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice-President, President and Past President. She is currently serving as the Chair of the NSSA Long Range Planning Committee, the Chair of the Finance Committee, is an NSSA Director representing FL and has been elected to serve on the NSCA Advisory Council as well. She is a 25+ year NSSA All-American and member of the NSSA Hall of Fame (inducted 1997). She was also inducted into the New York State Skeet HOF (1996) and the Georgia Skeet HOF (2003).
Michael Hampton, Jr. was born and raised in southern Illinois. He grew up in a hunting and clay target shooting family, with his father Michael Hampton Sr. running both a Sporting Goods and Trap Shooting Facility. Michael attended and graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Business with a major in Marketing and minor in Economics.
Upon graduation, Michael immediately began working June 1, 1993 for the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA.) Michael has coordinated and managed all aspects of the Clay Target Shooting sport, including positions of Facilities Manager of the National Shooting Complex (NSC), the largest shooting clay target shooting facility in the country, to National Sporting Clays Association Director and currently as the Executive Director of the NSSA, NSCA and National Shooting Complex.
Michael has been married for 16 years and has three children, a 13 year old girl and two boys, ages 11 and 9. The family also enjoys the hunting and the clay target sports.
Denis Karnosky is a native of Livingston, Illinois, one of those typical small towns where hunting and fishing becomes a passion early in life. His commitment was further driven by his father, Stanley who spent his entire working career manufacturing ammunition for Winchester in what started as the ‘Western Cartridge Company’ in East Alton. Mary and he were married in 1965 and have two children and seven grandchildren. He has been a coach with the very successful Burlington High School shooting team in Wisconsin since its inception.
Now retired, Denis was a Managing Director, Head of Asset Allocation at UBS Asset Management. In addition to investment responsibility for multi-asset portfolios, he directed currency strategy across all portfolios, development of investment technology and risk analysis. Originally a Managing Partner and member of the Board of Directors of UBSAM’s predecessor organization, Brinson Partners, Inc. (Chicago), Denis’ group developed the framework for multi-asset, multi-currency performance attribution that has become the industry standard. Prior to joining Brinson Partners, he was Director of Research and Trading with Conti-Commodity Services and Heinold Commodities. He was the Deputy to the Under Secretary of the U.S. Treasury and the Head of the Office of Monetary Policy Analysis in the Reagan Administration. Previously, he was Vice President and Deputy Director of Research with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. He has served as an advisor to private and public organizations in Europe and Latin America. Denis holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Duke University.

McGrath, former Chairman – SSSF Board of Trustees, Steve Sanetti, President/CEO of National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), Kemble duPont, VP Sales and Marketing, duPont/Krieghoff Gun Co., and Thomas Edwards, Head Coach of the Bethel University Shotgun Shooting Team.
The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is responsible for all aspects of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) across the United States, including participant registration, coaches, state coordinators, state and national championships, promotion, communications, websites, public relations and growth strategies The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation exists to raise funding and other resources for Youth Development Programs in the shooting sports industry.
SCTP is a youth development program, originally developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), where adult coaches and volunteers model sportsmanship, responsibility, honesty, ethics, integrity, and team work while using shooting sports programs to teach these and other positive life skills to SCTP athletes.
