SIG SAUER, Industry Partners Launch Armed Citizen Alliance

SIG SAUER, one of the leading manufacturers of self-defense firearms, is joining with other shooting sports partners to help launch the Armed Citizen Alliance (ACA).
Designed as a resource for ordinary citizens to practice, train and become more proficient with defensive handguns, the ACA is intended as a first-contact point for the concealed carry community.
In addition to becoming the leading resource for concealed carry information, practice and training advice, the ACA also intends to help new or less-experienced shooters find venues to improve their overall safety and gun-handling skills.
“Safety is at the root of everything the ACA has planned,” said Bud Fini, Vice President of Marketing at SIG SAUER and member of the ACA’s Advisory Council. “With record numbers of new shooters out there, SIG SAUER is eager to help foster training and improve safety.”
While not intended as a competitive shooting organization, “Practice and Confidence” events will allow newer gun owners an opportunity to practice with their concealed carry firearms under the artificial stress of on-demand shooting.
“For some, the existing competitive shooting organizations are too focused on the gear and have too many rules,” Fini said. “The ACA is set up for average shooters to challenge themselves with their everyday carry gear.”
The ACA is a not-for-profit organization backed by some of the top manufacturers in the shooting and hunting industry. The all-volunteer board of directors, officers and advisory council are made up of representatives from the shooting industry, media, competitive shooting organizations and law enforcement officers.
“We’re fortunate to be aligned with such great partners to help raise awareness of the shooting sports and promote firearms safety,” Fini said. “Anything we can do to help new shooters enjoy the sport and promote responsible gun handling has our support.”
